It has been a sunny and positive return to school at St. Brendan’s N.S.
We were delighted to welcome the new junior infants to school. The children have settled in really well and are enjoying learning through each day in fun and engaging activities.
The children in the junior room are doing literacy stations and exploring many different approaches to learning languages and literacy.
We have been very lucky that the sun has shone so much in September. This has meant that the walks that the children have done each Monday as part of the Get Cork Walking Campaign have been often done in bright sunshine.
The children in the senior room are looking forward to taking part in the Hymn Service in Bandon in early October. They have been practicing singing in school in preparation for the event. We are delighted that Peter Stobart will be holding a practice hymn service in the school next week. Peter always makes music fun and positive for the children. We will be welcoming children children for three other primary schools on the day of this event.
The staff of St. Brendan’s N.S volunteered recently for the Tour de Beara cycle which was held on September 14th. This was a very positive experience for everyone involved as much needed funds were raised for many local charities.
We are excited to be moving forward with the development of an outside Sensory Space at St. Brendan’s N.S. We are in the process of receiving advice and guidance on how best to do this.
This project has been made possible by funds raised at the very successful Wine and Cheese Fundraiser at Bantry House in May 2024. We send a sincere thanks to everyone who supported this event in any way.
St. Brendan’s also were delighted to receive a donation towards the Sensory Space by UBAKA, a charity that supports children’s welfare.
We are looking forward to another busy and productive year at St. Brendan’s N.S.
