The children at St. Brendan’s N.S have enjoyed the weeks of March as we move further into Spring.
They have been busy working on the school garden with Mr. Elgammal and preparing the garden for the growing season ahead.
The Senior Room were delighted to be asked to attend the performance of Grease at Coláiste Phobail recently. The transition years from the Coláiste put on a great performance and it was very inspiring for the children of St. Brendan’s to see the work and effort put into the musical.
The children are looking forward to going swimming in the Maritime Hotel after the Easter holidays. The swimming lessons are part of the aquatics programme in a school and it is a wonderful skill for the children to learn during school time.
The Junior Room have been enjoying exploring learning play by doing the Aistear programme in school. The Aistear theme of the circus was a big hit with the children and they really enjoyed dressing up as clowns, acrobats and jugglers. There were even a few tigers and lions roaming around the school hall during Aistear time.
We hope the children enjoy their Easter Holidays and return refreshed for the busy summer term.
We wish everyone a Happy Easter from all at St. Brendan’s N.S.
A reminder that we will hold another Wine and Cheese Fundraiser night in Bantry House on Saturday May 18th.
Last year’s event was very well supported by the local community and turned out to be a lovely night in a very special setting. The money raised last year went towards the development of a Sensory Room at the school and this has benefited the children greatly.
We would love to be able to expand the sensory space to include an outdoor Sensory Garden also.
On the night there will be Wine and Cheese but also Choir singing, Local musicians, International Singers and Performers and it will all take place in the wonderful setting of Bantry House.
We are looking forward to the event on the 18th of May.
Contact the school on 027 55126 or 087 313 9550 to express your interest in attending as spaces are limited.
