The children of St. Brendan’s have been busy in January working towards Spring.
The Credit Union Quiz is always a fun and educational experience and the children in the senior room have been revising general knowledge each week.
The Spring also brings the annual Chess Tournament in the Gaeilscoil Bantry. This is a very well organised event provided by Ficheall and it is a great experience for the children.
The Senior Room children have been continuing there Maths Problem solving each week by doing fun and engaging Maths Challenges through the Izak 9 Programme.
The girls from the Senior Room took part in Tag Rugby blitz in Coláiste Phobail recently. Everyone showed great courage to brave the elements and show up for the Tag Rugby games on the day.
We are very grateful to Ger Hicks and all who organised this Tag Rugby Tournament for the girls. The Transition Year students from Coláiste Phobail did a great job refereeing the games.
Transition Year Students from Co- action will also be coming into school to do Indoor Rugby with the children in the Senior Room.
Everyone at St. Brendan’s N.S were surprised and delighted to hear that they had won the GOAL Jersey Day competition and received funds for the school to buy resources. The children and staff had participated in the GOAL Jersey Day fundraiser in October.
We would like to thank all the people who Supported the Solas Le Chéile fundraiser in December. All funds from this fundraiser are divided evenly between Bantry Hospice Project and St. Brendan’s N.S. We were delighted that 1400 Euros was raised in total.
St. Brendan’s N.S is a small school with staff that have the time to give more attention to each child.
We will be holding an OPEN MORNING on Thursday 12th February from 11.30 am to 12.30 pm. If you are interested in enrolling your child at St. Brendan’s N.S contact the school on 087 3139550 or 027 51126 by text or phone call.
We would be delighted to welcome you into the school to meet the staff and children.
