St. Brendan’s N.S began their Mindful Monday programme in February. The children in the Senior Room learned from Mr. Murphy about the importance of good breathing habits to support them with learning best in school and concentration. The children practice breathing exercises, some yoga and Qi Gong to help with their focus and wellbeing in school.
The children from the senior classes took part in the Ficheall Chess Tournament that was held at the Gaelscoil Bheanntraí in the middle of February. This was a great day for the children who took part and we would like to thank all the organisers.
We would like to thank Tetiana, a parent in the school for coming in and making Valentine’s cards with the children from 1 st to 6 th class. The children were able to bring the Valentine’s Cards home and the cards looked great.
Daily movement breaks are part of each day at school for the children and in February there was the Croke Park Movement Challenge. This was a fun and engaging experience for the children. Mr O Donovan completed fitness circuits with new sports equipment in the school.
Other activities the children took part in this month were the Credit Union quiz where we entered two teams and making of St. Brigid’s crosses with Ms. Kingston. We would also like to thank RT Co- Action Students from for coming into school to
do rugby coaching with the children.
